My goal at SoCal Glow is to make every client look and feel amazing but I do need a little help from you to achieve it! So let's start with...
How To Prepare
Warning - Spray tans and sunburns do not mix! If you have suffered a sunburn within 6 weeks of your scheduled appointment you should consider rescheduling or canceling as your results may not be favorable!

Prior to your appointment...

Preferably the night before, shower, shave and exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin cells. Do not use Dove, products containing micro cleansing beads or in shower moisturizers! Pay attention to rough skin areas like knees, elbows, and feet.

Make sure to thoroughly rinse your back and shoulders of shampoo and conditioner.
Pedicures, waxing, threading, eyelash extensions, hair color, massages and any other beauty services should be done before the day of your spray tan!

Stop using products containing retinol & AHAs (glycolic, citric, and lactic acids) a few days before your spray tan. These products cause the skin to exfoliate at a cellular level and can cause the tan to fade unevenly.
The day of your appointment do not apply any lotion, oil or perfume to your skin. These products can act as a barrier and can prevent the spray tan solution from properly absorbing into your skin. Use deodorant sparingly or if possible none at all. Make up wipes are provided at your session.
Do not shower and shave right before your appointment! Showering too close to your appointment time (allow at least 4 hours) can alter the ph of your skin which can negatively affect the development of your spray tan.
You can wear as much or as little as you are comfortable with. Women please keep in mind your tan lines. Will they be noticeable with your special event outfit or vacation bathing suit?
Minors and men must wear bottoms.
After the spray tan session plan on wearing dark loose fitting clothing. Bras, skinny jeans, leggings or any other tight fitting clothing can rub on your tan and cause it to develop unevenly.
Please be aware of the weather on the day of your appointment, in case of rain or snow remember to bring an umbrella, hoodie or clothing and footwear that can protect your tan from spotting and streaking!
How To Care
After Your Appointment...
The spray tan solution must remain on your skin for at least 8 hours after your session. Rapid Rinse solution, 2 - 4 hours per my instruction. Do not shower, get wet, sweat or exercise during this time.
Refrain from touching your skin as your palms and fingertips may become stained.
If you are sleeping with the solution on your skin it is best to wear loose pajama bottoms and a large t-shirt to prevent any skin on skin contact.
Rinse with water only for your first shower, no soap or shampoo! Use your hands to remove all the bronzers and pay special attention to your lower body (legs, ankles, feet). Do not be alarmed when it appears as though you are rinsing your tan down the drain, it is only the cosmetic bronzers in the solution and not your actual tan!
Pat your skin dry with a towel, do not rub!

A soap shower can be taken after 24 hours. Do NOT use Dove, Victoria’s Secret, Bath and Body Works, commercial bar soaps and exfoliating body washes as these products can strip and fade your tan quickly. Products specifically formulated for use with spray tans are best!
It is very important to keep your skin hydrated! Remember to apply a spray tan friendly moisturizer daily for the best longevity and fade of your tan.
Hot tubs, chlorinated pools and salt water can greatly fade your color. It is recommended to apply an oil free waterproof sunscreen before swimming.

Products containing retinol & AHAs can cause your tan to fade faster and unevenly. If possible, avoid those products while you are maintaining your spray tan.
A spray tan provides no protection against sunburns and sundamage so please protect your skin!
By carefully following these prepare and care tips your spray tan can last from 5 - 10 days! Enjoy!
